CM Mamata Banerjee announced the Khela Hobe scheme during a rally in Kolkata on 21st July. She expressed that the TMC Government is planning a new initiative to provide a 100-Day Job Scheme, aligning it with the Central Sponsored Scheme, MGNREGA.  

What is WB Khela Hobe Rural Job Scheme?

 It highlighted the state’s commendable performance in the MNREGA despite the halt of funds by the Central Government since January 2022. To address this issue, the state government initiated the state-level Khela Hobe Scheme, guaranteeing a 100-day job to rural poor citizens. A Dharna was organized on Gandhi Jayanti in Delhi to exert pressure on the release of funds.

Main Objective of West Bengal Khela Hobe Yojana
